Now that baseball players in our stories link to their page at Baseball Reference, you can click on any player to get their entire history. The following are the batters we put on each of our 12 All-Time World Baseball Classic Teams. We actually played the first two games for each team using average fielding stats for each player just to get the game going.

However, we undertook a project to pull up the top 500 all-time players at every position, which included all of these players, and we now have accurate fielding stats for each player. Therefore instead of all players being an average CD3 (Clutch Defense 3), Ichiro Suzuki now has the best Clutch Defense rating at CD5, with the lowest chance of making an error (E1) and the best possible outfield throwing arm (T5).

However, this Asian teammate who hits second is Shin-Soo Choo, who has the worst fielding ratings in all three (CD1 is the worst, E4 is the most likely chance for an outfielder to make an error, and T2 is the weakest throwing arm.

Catchers throwing arms can be TA (the best), TB or the worst TC. Infielders do not have throwing arms per se - their ability to gun runners out is reflected in their CD rating.

Here is what each column below means.

Line-up is the suggested order in which we hit the batters in our games.

The name of each player then appears, and you can click for their entire history on Baseball Reference.

The HR range is the Random Numbers from 11-88 that result in a home run on their card. If the player has no homers on his card, then we list if the highest numbers are triples (3B) or doubles (2B).

Stl is their ability to steal bases, with E being the worst (cannot steal) and A normally the best. However, there are rare AA and AAA to handle players that were up around 100 stolen bases a year.

Field is the update fielding stats explaining above listed after the players normal position.

OPS is their career OPS average, but keep in mind a player with the same OPS in the dead ball era will have a much better hitting card then a player with the same OPS from a live ball era.

Finally, we list the years they played in the Major Leagues.
