Classic to the Buzzer: Coach K's Last Duke Team vs. Hurley's UConn Champs

Coaching royalty on this one so we wrote in their names on their team sheets for our Value Add Basketball Game tournament.

If this were an actual game it would have ended UConn's current streak of 22 straight double digit wins against non-Big East foes.

Coach Kryzewski's last team, Duke 2022, scored cut the UConn lead to a single score on 9 of their final 12 possessions, but UConn responded with a basket every time until their final possession.

In that one Wendell Moore was fouled shooting and hit both free throws to cut it to 80-77.
Duke the forced a turnover from Tristen Newton to leave Duke with one last chance to try for a 3-pointer. When a team uses this strategy they double the 3-point made range as long as for every 3-point made roll they add one 2-point made can be turned into a miss and automatic defensive rebound.

The ball went to Trevor Keels on a 3 on the 8-sided die roll meaning his normal 1-3 range for making a 3 and 4-8 for making a 2 on the 20-sided die was changed to the following.

1-5 three-pointer made, 6 a normal 2-pointer missed with chance at a rebound and 7-8 now desperate miss with opponent getting rebound automatically. In fact it was a 16 for a normal 3-pounter missed but still leaving the chance for an offensive rebound.

The rebound roll was 18 on the 20-sided die (meaning defensive shooting guard has the chance for the rebound) and then a "4" on the 6-sided die meaning the number had to be in that range or the defensive sg would fail to get the ball and it would go to the offensive sg.

Many SGs have a smaller range since 1-3 is average for all players and guards are usually lower. However UConn's Andre Jackson is a 1-5 as one of UConn's typical giant guards (6 foot 6) so he grabbed it and UConn advances to survive as the 1-seed after setting a record I t he previous game  for the lowest fewest points every allowed in our.game.with a 77-39 win over St. Peter's.

In addition to the two incredible coaches, this may be the best four centers I've had in a game. Obviously Adama Sanogo is an All-American Center, but he battled Mark Williams who has one of the best few scoring cards in the game going up to 16 of 20 to be fouled or score. And as for the backups, I watched UConn's Donovan Clingan put up 20 against Marquette when Sanago was in foul trouble, and I watched many of Theo John's almost 200 blocked shots before he left Marquette for his last season at Duke, where both he and Williams had the perfect blocked shot card with 21-26, 32, meaning on a 32 the block the shot no matter who on the opposing team is shooting.
