We are fully into the college basketball half of our year, except our Statis-Pro baseball refusing to end. The Astros seemed to have it wrapped up but for 9th inning collapses including being one out away from a title in game 5 to allow this game 6.
Justin Verlander with the shaky start. He gives up the usual solo shot (Hoerner) but then three consecutive doubles (Bellinger, Wisdom, Suzuki) puts Houston in a 3-0 hole.
Jordan Alvarez hits a solo shot to cut it to 3-1. After the poor first inning, Verlander puts up four shutout innings.
But then the Astros bullpen removes all doubt with another bad outing. Patrick Wisdom goes 2-5, 2-doubles, 3 RBI. Marcus Stroman with another strong start to get the win.
No drama here as the Cubs win 8-2 and force a deciding game seven.
