While the 2000 Michigan State team goes in as a the surprise team of the All-Time Elite 8 and a 14 point underdog against Bill Walton's 7-0 UCLA 1972 team, they are not the biggest underdog today.
Our all-time NIT game parred with this one has Texas Southern, a 16-point underdog against 1944 Dartmouth. While teams that are at least 7-point underdogs have lost just over 80 percent of their Value Add Basketball Games, this same Texas Southern team already pulled off the biggest upset in our games history, with a 72-71 shocker over 1950 Holy Cross, which was a 20-point favorite.

No repeat magic, as 2-time National Runner-up Dartmouth, representing the all-time Ivy League, ran away from SWAC champ Texas Southern 82-55.
All-American Aud Bradley had 22 points and 16 rebounds as Dartmouth dominated the boards 49-29.
All-time great Dick McGuire, who would become a national championship coach, and his fellow future NBA backcourt player George Munroe shut down the 3-point game. Finally the forwards Lionel Baxter and Thomas Killick, who rotated between playing games and Marine drills preparing to win World War II scrapped on the boards.
Fred Sturdivant led Texas Southern again with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
