Denny McLean vs. Bryce Harper & 1910 A's vs. 1995 Cleveland in Double Header

After being swamped by RNC coming to my town of Milwaukee and needing to organize a prayer breakfast that consumed the whole week, I'm finally able to pull out the Statis-Pro game again.

All-Time Great Eastern Teams

Our last game featured the 1984 Tigers dominant performance in a sweep of the 1929 Philadelphia Athletics, we have just two more debut games left in our all-time great Eastern Division. Keep in mind the "Boston-New York" division is a separate division from the rest of our Eastern Division. To play your own game you can use the simple instructions on the bottom of each team sheet, or click on the Statis-Pro Baseball Instructions.

You can click on the link to the Statis-Pro sheets of all 60 great teams anytime to play a game, but in this csae these will be the two teams in our double header, and we will play both games in Philadelphia and later finish the 2-game series for both in the other city.

When you click on the teams you will see all their batters and pitchers for use in the game.

The Cleveland game will be played in 1910, so DEEP drives will only leave the park on a 11-18 and be caught with all runners advancing on a 21-88.

The Detroit game will be played in 2022 so the ball leaves the park on an 11-78 and is only caught on an 81-88. These ball park adjustments on deep drives are one of the biggest advantages we believe our game has over others as far as equalizing the chance for teams from different eras to beat each other. The second advantage to the game is using modern stolen base percentages along the lines of the current move to have the bases larger and closer together - accomplished on the old steal charts by turning any "caught stealing" result on the old charges that appears on a odd number to a "held base, could not get jump."

The favorites based on the cards starting with rating on our game tracker of Teams and Results, would be:

The A's (.790 rating on the sheet) would be a slight favorite over the powerhouse line-up of the Indians (.730) with the slightly superior overall team but also a pitching edge in the first game between aces with Coombs being a PB 2-9 (best 5% of all pitchers based on WAR per inning) and Andujar being the second best level (PB 2-8, or top 15% of all pitchers).

The Tigers (.726) would be a bigger favorite over the surprising NL champion Phillies (.567 one of the lower among the great teams) as they features one of the best pitchers in the whole game in McLean (PB 2-8 but only allows hits on 11-15 and then strikeouts on 16-43 and walks on 44-48). However, Zack Wheeler is also great and just a few more hits allowed (11-18) on his card.
