Arizona results at Minnesota and photo of cards to be added after game.
Arizona has dropped to 0-5 in our Statis-Pro season despite Moreno's 2-run homer. Here is the remaining interleague games and standings, with these NL teams having the edge for these games at home and with their aces going against the No. 4 pitcher listed for each AL opponent. Here is the actual game logs of all our games played this season - with teams averaging 3.9 runs per game. The Dodgers have the No. 1 offense with 5.2 runs scored per game, and the Mets have the No. 1 pitching with 2.2 runs per game allowed.
Preview and Rosters
This matchup is between the two teams Fangraphs believes are most likely to finish exactly .500, 81-81 or close to it.
In the last debut of our Statis-Pro Interleague series, the Diamondbacks need to go through their 4-man rotation a second time but this time without Corbin Burnes, because we do remove cards in our league play if they are lost for the season or put on 60-day DL. That was the one big edge Arizona would have had because all the other starting pitchers for both teams are PB 2-7 (above average) so consider the pitching even with all 2-7 vs 2-7 starters but both with loaded bullpens.
The Diamondbacks have hung around in actual MLB play despite losing Corbin, and when we look at in season adjustments we see why with five of their nine starters being upgraded during the season (adding one home run) including the No. 9 hitter Geraldo Perdomo who at shortstop ranks as the 52nd best player this season in WAR. Meanwhile the Twins have two players who are downgraded by one home run of two players including their shortstop, Carlos Correa.
In our otherwise balanced Statis-Pro season, Arizona is the only winless team at 0-4. However, this is just of the teams we included, the teams we judged the bottom three teams in each league were relegated and not in this 12 NL vs 12 AL team showdown. The Game 5 match-ups are the tough one for each NL team, since it is there 4th best starter (Arizona's Ryne Nelson due to two injuries) against the Twins ace starer (Pablo López). Not surprisingly, the AL teams are 7-4 in these match-ups so far in which they are at home with their ace on the hill.Order | Pos/PB | Minnesota Batters | WAR | OPS/ERA | Steal/Max IP | Adjust/K |
