Since we are in our one interleague round our July 4 opener features the one big trade of the year. The Giants obviously add a great clean hitter in Rafael Devers, but the silver lining for the Red Sox losing Devers is in the field. With him out of the line-up, we can move a poor fielding second baseman card of Kristian Campbell to our DH spot, and move a fast and better fielder Romy Gonzalez into the line-up and to play second base.
T
he new bat of Abraham Toro at 1st base and former Astro Alex Bregman – who is a major fielding upgrade for Devers at 3rd base and gets an extra HR number on his card as an in season involvement so we play now as a 26-28 homer range while Rob Refsnyder adding a homer to be 27-31 at least gives the Red Sox some potential pop in the line-up despite the big blow of losing Devers card. So weaker line-up but much stronger fielding at least.
