Giolito Pulled After 7 No-Hit Innings in BoSox/Cards Split; Mets Win 2 Over Royals

We've now played all 12 teams in our Statis-Pro baseball season using 2024 projected cards, and the early records and game results with starting pitchers listed are below. Another 10 NL teams are being played separately in Montana and this year that Commissioner is much further along. We also relegated 8 teams this season - which will still play one or two 2-game series each.

Links to all players in the game listed at the bottom. If you want to add the chance of the occasional crazy, fun play, we just added this great chart of unusual Z-Plays.

The Mets won their series against the Royals. Kodai Senga was brilliant with 7 shutout innings, and the only offense was an Pete Alonso homer for a 1-0 win in a match-up of aces. The second game between No. 4 starters was a 9-6 slugfest, with J.D. Martinez starting with a 2-run homer and then double, and Starling Marte stealing three bases.

The Cardinals and Red Sox both won at home for a split. Lance Lynn was brilliant in the nightcap, going 7 innings with 1 run allowed, 8 strikeouts and no walks in a 5-1 win in Busch Stadium.

Paul Goldschmidt

and Nolan Gorman both homered, while the big stadium resulted in a couple of deep drives by Red Sox players. Triston Casas sparked this one just as Martinez did for the Cardinals in the game before, starting with a double then 3-run homer after singles by Tyler O'Neill and Rafael Devers

The interesting one on a day that Blake Snell threw a no-hitters in the first game in which he pitched into the 9th inning - and we had a similar case with the Red Sox Lucas Giolito has a no-hitter through 7 innings. However, we did take him out as he had already given up a run in the first inning and would have dropped to a PB4-7 if he had come back out for the 8th.
