Nice when your Duke 1992 Value Add Basketball team has 3 All-Americans in the starting five as all-Americans. As we reported on CBS Sports, this is one of only 5 times a school has made five straight Elite 8s. Below we paste their cards as well as those if Shaq and Florida State's Doug Edwards from the list.
I actually believe current Duke coach Jon Scheyer was even better than any of the awesome 1992 Duke trio, but he had an eye injury and at the end of his college career and did not go onto the NBA.
At first I thought the voters had missed Jason Kidd, but then realized he actually played for Cal the next season. It was the second time in a few days I was wrong about Jason, as I let down my trivial pursuit team this weekend by forgetting he was the oldest point guard to win an NBA title. As noted on his card below, he is the 36th greatest in NBA history. I believe I blocked it out of my memory because his Dallas Mavericks beat Marquette's Dwyane Wade in 2011 when he was 38. Thats ok, Wade won his 2nd and 3rd title the next two years!
