Despite home runs in both games by the newest Cubs star Candelario, the Diamondbacks won back-to-back thrilling games - 5-4 and 10-9, to break a tie for 5th place.
The following is a snapshot of our Statis-Pro season. As noted on the bottom, the Dodgers, Braves and Brewers clearly have the best cards in the game. The Marlins record is up there with them, but their remaining schedule is brutal so will almost certainly fall.
That leaves the Marlins likely fighting for one of the remaining three playoff spots with the Diamondbacks, Giants, Cubs, Reds and Phillies.
The Mets appear to be toast with a touch schedule left and no Verlander or Scherzer, while the Padres have actually been even worst in Statis-Pro than in the actual disappointing season, but are one of five teams within three games of the Cubs for the last playoff spot after the Cubs losses to the Diamondbacks.
