The Braves starting rotation entered our Statis-Pro game with a microscopic 1.80 ERA, and our first game featured the two PB 2-9 cards with the best ERAs in our Statis-Pro game to date. the Braves Spencer Strider entered the game with our league's best 0.79 ERA in three starts, vs. the Brewers Corbin Burnes in second with a 1.31 ERA (1st photo below shows the initial set-up on that game)
Rnk | TOP ERAs | Team | IP | ER | ERA | TmW | TmL |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Corbin Burnes | Mil | 27.7 | 4 | 1.30 | 7 | 5 |
2 | Max Fried | Atl | 19.7 | 3 | 1.37 | 7 | 2 |
3 | Clayton Kershaw | LAD | 26.7 | 5 | 1.69 | 8 | 4 |
4 | Julio Urias | LAD | 20 | 4 | 1.80 | 6 | 3 |
5 | Justin Verlander | NYM | 19.7 | 4 | 1.83 | 7 | 2 |
6 | Spencer Strider | Atl | 28 | 6 | 1.93 | 5 | 7 |
7 | Tommy Henry | Ari | 14 | 3 | 1.93 | 6 | 3 |
8 | Aaron Nola | Phi | 17.7 | 4 | 2.03 | 3 | 6 |

10 | Mark Leiter | ChC | 20.3 | 6 | 2.66 | 7 | 5 |
Strider finally left a pitch up and outside his pb 2-9 range in the 6th and it was deposited for a 3-run homer. With that Strider left the game having his ERA increased from 0.79 to 1.93. Here were the Braves first 12 starts that resulted in the 1.80 ERA, but their pen and offense have not been as good.
Brewers won the first game 8-1, but the Braves rallied in the nightcap for a 6-5 win. This also took a rare homer off a PB2-9. The second photo shows the fateful card flip. Devin Williams left a pitch up on Ozzie Albies, who hit a DEEP drive. The card shown is the "28" random number that meant the deep drive went out of the park for a home run - as 11-35 is a homer in Milwaukee (the exact average ballpark), while a 36-88 would have been a deep drive caught.
The Brewers stay in 3rd place in our Statis-Pro season (better than they were last year or this year in real MLB play) while the Braves remaining in 4th place (worse than they were last year or this year in real MLB play) - so the two teams have reversed in our game.
