Mookie Betts beat a throw home from shortstop Francisco Lindor and then Teoscar Hernandez hit a 2-run homer to give the Dodgers and 8-2 win and sweep over the Mets.
The Mets will still be a wildcard, but now the math is simple on the NL East title. If Milwaukee beats the Dodgers in the finale, regardless of score, they win the East and get the bye. If the Dodgers win then the Cubs get the East title and the bye.
That would end the season and playoffs would be next with one possible exception - if the Dodgers lose by 5+ for a sweep then they would still not quite have the West clinched. In that case the Dodgers could play Arizona once or twice, and the only way the Padres take the West if the Dodgers were swept (loss by 5+) in all three games.
