Statis-pro NLCS 2025 - Series Complete, We Have an NL Champ!

 Here is the game-by-game to decide who faces Seattle in our 2025 Statis-pro World Series.

Game 1 - LA Dodgers 5, NY Mets 1. Freeman doubled in the fo ahead run in the 3rd inning and the Dodgers batted around in the 7th to make it 5-0 in a 5-1 Dodgers win. Glasnow pitched 7 scoreless innings and Ohtani game up 1 run to wrap up the game.

Game 2 - Mets 2, Dodgers 1

Lindor led off with a homer and after a 62 minute rain delay that reduced his PB to 2-7, Holmes threw 7 shutout innings for the win. The PB 2-9 dup of Helsley and Diaz wrapped it up, but not before Winkler could not make a clutch defensive play on a drive to right ny Pages, which turned into a rbi double before the Mets held on 2-1 to tie the series.

Game 3 - Dodgers 2, Mets 1 in 11 innings - Mookie Betts deep drive to left with bases loaded scored Hyeseong Kim in the top of the 11th to make it 2-1 Dodgers.

However in the bottom of the 11th Soto doubled to center for a chance to tie the game if the speedy Mullins could score from first. He would have scored if Pages (the actual world series fielding hero) was still in centerfield, but T5 Edman had come in as a pinch runmer and taken over centerfield and his T5 arm held Mullins at 3rd and the Dodgers tool a 2 games to 1 edge in the NLCS.

Game 4 - Dodgers 3, Mets 1. The Dodgers had 4 of their 5 hits in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead and it was enough. Lindor homered in the 1st and in the 3rd inning hit a deep drive that would have been out of Dodger Stadium, but that was it for the Mets offense as the Dodgers won 3-1 to take a 3-1 lead in the series and be one game from a rematch with the Mariners in the World Series.

Game 5 - Dodgers 2, Mets 1 in 13 innings. Dodgers pitching continued to  dominate, allowing only Mets hits in 11 innings. However they still needed a Kim triple in the 11th and then one of the few balls all season, as the great rookie Brazonan apparently panicked on the mound.

 

Mariners Line-ups For Statis-Pro World Series

 For the Mariners road games in the Statis Pro World Series the traditional Statis-pro cards below will be used by our Montana Commissioner who played the AL this year. These cards are the previous year's cards including Cal Raleigh who hits homers on 17-25 - or 7 numbers of the 64 numbers from 11-88.

We will play an "alternate reality" series in Milwaukee where our commissioner uses the sheets of projected cards further down. In those games Raleigh hits homers on 21-32 or 10 of 64 numbers. He also hits the ball deep with a chance to go out but at Seattle these deep blasts almost never go out - only on an 11-14 while a 15-88 is a sac fly.  However in road games about 1 of those 3 will go out - on 11-28 if the Mets are the opponent or 11-35 if at Dodger Stadium

Cubs-Dodgers Game-by-Game Series - Results inserted after every game (winner gets Mets, then Mariners for title)

 Game 1- Cubs 5, Dodgers 4 - four unearned runs let Cubs shock Dodgers.

Blake Snell pitched a shut out into the 7th inning to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead, but then the first of two errors by second baseman Hyeseong Kim, on a misthrow on what would have been an inning ending double play, led to four Cubs unearned runs en route to a 5-4 shocker.

Kyle Tucker threw out two Dodgers at home.

The only downside for the Cubs is they had to bring in Cade Horton in the 5th inning, so he cannot start, and the will need to start one PB2-7 pitcher. However well worth the win to start the best of five series.

Game 2: Tyler Glasnow Dominates for 6-1 Dodgers win to even series.

Three of the first four Cubs singled off Tyler Glasnow, but Ian Happ took a wide turn arond first after the third hit, and Glasgow allowed only one more hit the rest of the way to win the game in a 6-1 affair.

Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts had back-to-back hits twice. In the first inning it was two singles to help the Dodgers tie the game 1-1. IN the sixth it was a triple by Ohtani and homer by Betts to make it 5-1 Dodgers. The series now goes to Wrigley for Game 3 and 4, and would come back to Dodgers Stadium if a Game 5 is necessary.

Game 3 -Dodgers 2, Cubs 0 in 13 innings

Michael Busch came so close to being the hero in the 10th, making a diving stop that only a Clutch Defense 4 or 5 could have kept from being a run scoring double down the 3rd base line, and instead tagging out pinch runner Tommy Edman at 3rd base to keep the game scoreless. 

With one out in the bottom of the 10th Busch then drove a deep drive that would have been out of many ballparks but in Wrigley was caught.

Eventually the Dodgers incredibly deep pitching staff won a war of attrition. After holding the Dodgers to only four hits in 10 innings, the top of the line-up rolled around in the 13th inning an put together four hits including three in a row from Shohei Ohtani, Betts and Freeman for a 2-0 win and are within one game of advancing to the Statis-Pro 2025 NL Championship.

Game 4 - Dodgers 7, Cubs 4 (Dodgers advance 3 games to 1)

Ohtani tripled for the 2nd time in the series to key a 5-run 3rrd inning, and Teoscar Hernández capped the inning with a 3-run homer. The Dodgers drew the lead to 7-1 halfway through the game before the Cubs chipped away when Seiya Suzuki scored after a double in the 6th inning to make it 7-2 and then hit a 2-run homer in the eighth, but they could get no closer as the Dodgers won 7-4 to advance and play the Mets in what would be the marketers dream matchup of the top two media markets for the NL championships.

The Statis-Pro Dodgers are competing against the actual MLB Dodgers for best current dynasty. If the Dodgers do not win the Statis-Pro World Series than like the actual MLB Dodgers they will have three titles in the past six seasons. If they beat the Mets and then Mariners (who they swept last year in our Statis-Pro World Series) then they will be even better than the actual MLB counterparts with 4 titles in 6 Statis-Pro seasons.

Dodgers Aim for Back-to-Back Statis-Pro Championships - Just Like Tonight's MLB (Mariners, Cubs and Now Mets in Way)

On the same day as the culmination of one of the greatest World Series in history, the Dodgers have a chance to make more history of their own. After winning two straight real-world World Series titles, Los Angeles will now try to capture its second straight Statis-Pro World Series — and fourth in the past six years of Statis-Pro.

Scroll down for the Mets vs. Brewers Results. The first three games were the most incredible trio of pitcher dues we remember in all our years of Statis-Pro, with the Mets winning 2-1 in 10 innings, 1-0 and then losing to the Brewers 0-2. Finally the Bats came out in an 8-6 Mets win to advance.

The Dodgers swept the Mariners last year and could get a rematch if they can make it through the National League bracket again. The Mariners, meanwhile, will make their second consecutive Statis-Pro World Series appearance but remain the only franchise to reach the championship series without yet winning a game.

However, before the Dodgers can reach another World Series, they’ll need to get past both the Cubs and the Mets.

The Statis-Pro season has produced some of the most dominant pitching stretches in league history. Through the first three games of the Mets–Brewers series, both teams averaged just one run per game — with the Mets winning 2–1 in 10 innings, then 1–0, before the Brewers took Game 3 by a 2–0 score.

Finally, the bats broke out in Game 4, as the Mets held on for an 8–6 win to claim the series. They now await the winner of the Cubs–Dodgers five-game set, with the Seattle Mariners waiting in the Statis-Pro American League final.

Brewers-Mets Statis-Pro playoff while Jays-Dodgers.im Game 7

 While the real Dodgers and Blue Jays battle in Game 7, we decided to hold off on the Statis-Pro Dodgers kicking off their Statis-pro playoffs against the Cubs. Instead the New York Mets that looked like a contender most of the year, and the Brewers that were the to NL team during the regular season, battle in Statis-Pro to try to meet the Dodgers-Cubs winner and ultimately the Seattle Mariners for the Statis-pro title.

Cubs WIN! Cubs WIN! Cubs WIN! 6 of final 8 Statis-Pro teams Match MLB

Note 6 of the final 8 teams in our Statis-Pro season match the MLB final 8 teams - the Statis-Pro New York Mets replaced MLBs Philadelphia Phillies, and the Statis-Pro Houston Astros replaced MLBs Toronto Blue Jays, who will play the Dodgers in Game 7 of the MLB World Series Saturday.

The Chicago Cubs may have been out-hit, but they weren’t outplayed. Despite the Philadelphia Phillies’ dominant 23–15 advantage in hits across the two-game Statis-Pro baseball series, the Cubs came up clutch when it mattered most — especially on defense — to pull off a 2–0 sweep and advance to face the top-seeded Los Angeles Dodgers.

Game 2: Holding On for Dear Life

The drama peaked in the ninth inning of Game 2. Clinging to a 5–4 lead with runners on second and third and just one out, the Cubs turned to their PB 4–7 (average) reliever Colin Rea. Rea retired Bryson Stott, then issued a tense walk to Bryce Harper to load the bases for Kyle Schwarber. But Rea induced a grounder to second base to end the game, sealing a 5–4 Cubs victory and the series sweep.

The “What If” Shot

Just an inning earlier, Trea Turner nearly flipped the script with a deep drive to right that would have been a walk-off homer in Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park, where the “DEEP” range for home runs extends from 11–52. Unfortunately for the Phillies, Wrigley Field only rewards a homer on a 11–26 — and Tucker’s drive stayed in the yard. Ironically, the Cubs benefited from that same narrow range in Game 1, when Pete Crow-Armstrong’s deep drive registered a 26 — barely clearing the wall — to give Chicago life. That game ended in extra innings when Ian Happ doubled home Tucker for a 3–2 win.

Defense Wins Series

While the Phillies’ bats were relentless, the Cubs’ defense told the story. In Game 1, Michael Busch made a key Clutch Defense stop on a would-be double down the line by Brandon Marsh, holding him to a single. Later, Ian Happ made a spectacular catch to rob Alec Bohm of a potential game-winning double, and Carson Kelly made a heads-up play on a dribbler near the plate to end the inning. That defense forced extras — where Happ’s double secured the win.

On the mound, Matthew Boyd limited the Phillies to just one run over five innings in Game 1, while Drew Pomeranz and Porter Hodge combined to shut things down late. Hodge earned the win in the 10th, then turned around to pitch key innings (5th and 6th) in Game 2, again picking up the victory.

And speaking of Kelly, his defensive wizardry didn’t stop at fielding — he threw out potential basestealers late in both games, preventing what could have been two Phillies comebacks.

Offensive Fireworks

The Phillies’ offense was nothing short of explosive. Brandon Marsh led the charge with five hits, while Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and J.T. Realmuto each added three hits apiece. Incredibly, those four combined for 14 of the team’s 23 hits in the series.

For Chicago, it was a team effort. Pete Crow-Armstrong, Ian Happ, and Carson Kelly each collected three hits, providing enough offense to back their stellar defense.

With the sweep, the Cubs now move on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who finished with the league’s best 26–16 record (.600) in the Statis-Pro season — even while skipping their final six games against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers feature a terrifying rotation trio of Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, all PB 2–9 pitchers.

Elsewhere in the postseason, the Milwaukee Brewers claimed the other NL bye and will take on the New York Mets, having won a tiebreaker among teams finishing with the second-best record — tied with the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs.

 We finally started our NL playoffs and the Mets brought in Edwin Diaz in the 8th to strikeout the side, the Mets rallied for two in the 9th to take a 6-5 lead over the Padres, then Diaz recorded another 1-2-3 inning for the Game 1 win.

The only down side for the Mets is out playoff rules are if a reliever pitches to more than 5 batters he is out for the next game so they will play Game 2 of the best-of-3 without him.

The Padres had a 5-2 lead until Lindor singled and Soto homered in the 6th to make it 5-4. The homer was impressive because it was on a deep drive on his card, which at PETCO Park is only a homer on an 11-24, so a 25-88 would have been caught to end the inning and the Padres would have won 5-4.

After the Padres won the 2nd game 5-3 a pitchers duel went late to decide Game 3.

For the second time in the series a Mets star, this time Lindor, hit a deep drive and his also went out, this time on a 14 to fall within the 11-24 home run range. The Mets therefore won 2 of 3 games because of drives that went out of the spacious San Diego Stadium. Both Soto and Pete Alonso hit additional homer runs that were clean shots in the Home Run ranges on their cards. That gave the Mets four homers in the series, and the Padres did not hit any home runs, managing only four doubles. 

The Mets Advance and here are the scoresheets. The picture of the playing cards in the setup is fun because we have cards from a year that Statis-Pro had 4-sided cards all in different colors. We shuffle them all in different directions and play through all four sides, then on the second time they go through the deck it is like the photo of the cards - all lined up to go through the black font, then blue, then green and then red. The photo was the deck when we had just gotten through all the black cards, and were just starting to flip over to use the blue side.
