The Brewers were the early disappointment in Statis-Pro through six games, and they were in danger dropping to 2-5 when surprised All-Star Jacob Misiorowski walked three batters and allowed a single in the 4th inning, but with help of a double play escaped to allow their game with the Pirates to still be 1-1 after eight innings. Here are the standings and logs of all games.
However, William Contreras hit a clutch batting, game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the 9th inning off Pirates closer David Bednar for the 2-1 win. He was MVP for both games, getting double credit since they were both wins, which gives him credit for 7 Game MVPs to tie Elly De La Cruz for tops.
Contreras then started the second game of the home-and-home series with another clutch batting hit, a 3-run home run as the third batter in the game to send the Brewers en route to a 11-4 win. Here are the line scores.
