Statis-Pro Mariners and Yankees Advance in Blog’s Record 114,354 Unique Visits

If they had played baseball in the old pony express days you would have received the update faster than this, but here is the update on the first round of the Statis-Pro AL playoffs - 15 days after the games were actually completed by our AL Commissioner based in Montana.

Our NL Commissioner not only got so caught up in work

he was not able to start his series, but he also missed

the AL Commissioners update below outlining the first

two series, in which Seattle advanced to play Detroit

and the Yankees advanced to play the Astros.

The amazing thing is that the blog has set a record

this month with our playoffs posted, with 114,354

unique visits already in September - mostly following

our baseball but we are also having thousands start

to pull up the Value Add Basketball Game again

to play either the women’s games during WNBA

players or men’s games as previews of their

college season.

Three teams are still alive both in Statis-Pro and the MLB in the Mariners as well as the two teams with NL byes, Milwaukee and the LA Dodgers. The Toronto Blues Jays are the one team still alive in MLB play that has been eliminated in Statis-Pro, though they have fallen behind early in Seattle and need to rally to avoid a three games to none hole.

Here is our long overdue update.

First-round AL update:

Statis-Pro AL Wild Card Round  (Best of 5)

New York Yankees defeat Texas Rangers

The Yankees came in as the top scoring team in the Statis-Pro AL.

They lived up to that in sweeping the Rangers in three straight.

The Yanks averaged 9-runs a game.

Paul Goldschmidt led the way with 2-HR's and 6 RBI's in three games.

Seattle Mariners defeat Cleveland Guardians

More drama here as the series went the full five games.

The Guardians starting pitching continued to surprise as they helped shut out Seattle in two of the first three games.

The Mariners got the big hits in the final two games to rally.

In game four, Eugenio Suarez smashed a grand slam on his way to 6 RBI's as Seattle won 6-4.

Then in the pivotal game five, Jorge Polanco blasted another grand slam as the Mariners rolled 11-5.
