1 Statis-Pro No Hitter and 20,600 Unique Visitors this Week

Luis Castillo has thrown a Statis-Pro no hitter in our American League play, which is being played in Montana this year while I play the NL in Milwaukee. Here is the box score, followed by links to all players in the box score, and finally the tracking of the 20,600 unique visitors to this blog in the past week. You can pull up the free game and all 2025 players at this link.

Also further down the Phillies win a wild 9-7 win over the Reds.

Meanwhile in the NL battle of the two .500 teams just out of the playoffs, Philadelphia beat Cincinnati 9-7 (almost as wild as their actual 10-8 win over Milwaukee the same day).

It does give the Phillies a chance as they catch Atlanta at 23-22 with one game left, but its still uphill. The Phils need to do better against the Dodgers than the Braves do against the Cubs in the finale for both since the Braves have the head to head.

Statis-pro Brewers Sweep Braves - 2nd in NL and Over 3-year Win Total

The Braves pulled off a 3-0 win against the Phillies in our game between the one team playing much better in Statis-pro vs the team playing much worse.

The Statis-pro Atlanta Braves beat the Phillies 3-0 to temporarily move into 4th place at 23-19. However, the Brewers then destroyed the Braves 7-1 to get credit for a 3-game sweep and drop the Braves to 23-22 to cling to the last of 6 playoff spots just a half game ahead of the Reds and Phillies who are both .500.

As the standings and remaining matchups show at the bottom, the Braves still have a good shot at our playoffs with Strider going against the Cubs, while all 4 NL East teams still need to play the league leading Dodgers.

While the Braves 6th place standing is better than this season, it is worse than their record over the past 3 years where they have the 4th beat NL record with 255 wins behind the Dodgers 276, Brewers 270, and Phillies 264. Here are where the teams rank in Statis-pro vs where they rank over the last 3 years in actual MLB record.

Our Statis-pro 2025 projected cards often yield seasons with results somewhere between the current season and the current season. When a player's OPS changes more than 100 points or ERA makes a huge change from what was projected we do make adjustments to those cards, but only halfway to leave the adjusted card halfway between the projected stats and actual current season.

This year is no exception, while the Braves are much worse this year, they enter our next game against the Brewers with the 4th best record (255 wins) in our Statis-pro league and their combined record over this and the past 2 seasons is also 4th.

In fact 12 of our 15 teams have the same or are just one off of their 3-year rank through tonight's games. The Mets are the one team playing much better in Statis-pro while the Phillies and Diamondbacks are the only two playing much worse in Statis-pro.

Here are the scoresheets from the Braves 3-0 win over the Phillies.

Buehler to Phillies - just in time? And a few other updates

Wow, just as we believing the Phillies injuries might just be too much to make the Statis-Pro playoffs, the last minute news breaks that Walker Buehler is released by the Red Sox and picked up by the Phillies. That's a nice card and that lets him moving into our rotation and start against the Braves (also the actual team playing the Phillies tonight) and move Jesus Luzardo down a spot (who would have been the starter both on TV and in Statis-Pro tonight) and bounces Walker as the No. 4 starter, which is big since Taijuan Walker is only a PB2-5 card who would have had trouble against the Dodgers.

Here is what Walker's card would actually look like if we still laid them out in the traditional format - but they match the numbers on the team sheet below that you can get all other teams by clicking here.

We also added a few catchers and pitchers to various teams on the sheet. Below has the updated pitching match-ups the rest of the way. The Braves Hurston Waldrep is starting on TV tonight and one of the nice additions of new player cards listed at the bottom of the Braves sheet below.  Finally, we also adjusted the pitcher's fielding for all recent gold nominees and listed the pitchers updated below. The "E1, CD-5" are updated in the team sheets.

Here are the pitchers who now have the E1, CD5 for having been at least a finalist for the Gold Glove in recent years.

Grid of Remaining Statis-Pro NL Games

We moved the grid around to show remaining games in our 2025 simulated season with the free Statis-pro baseball game.

Will add results after games shown in grid are played.

The two differences so far are that the Braves instead of the Giants were one of the eight top teams to advance out of divisional play (the other seven teams were the same in the game and real MLB) and now the Braves instead of the Phillies would make our playoffs.

San Diego's 7-4 win over Philadelphia tied their record and also gave them the tiebreaker for the 6th and final playoff spot as of today.

We did add a few players to the team sheets for games, adding only catchers or pitchers that were not yet in the game but are on the rosters, who FanGraphs projected would play well enough down the stretch to add wins the final part of the season. Those extra players are now on the sheets, and you use their OPS or ERA on the cards below to create a temporary card.

Padres over Phils 7-4, Mets over Braves 5-2 Scoresheets

We will keep tracking results and the inter division games remaining on the table in this blog. The scoresheets from the Padres beating the Phillies 7-4 to move ahead of them for the final playoff slot, and the Mets beating the Braves 5-2 to move within half a game of the Brewers for the divisional lead are below.

In both games the losing teams did salvage credit for a 1-2 series by rallying late to get the game back within 5 runs before the end of the 8th.

Braves at Mets Kick Off Inter-Division Play - Result tracker of Final Statis-Pro Baseball NL 2025 Simulated Season

And we are finally underway in our interdivision play starting with the Braves (NL "West") at the Mets (NL "East"). Results will be posted right here after the game. Below we paste the starting line-ups including the starting pitcher, and then which reliever would pitch the 9th, 8th, 7th and 6th inning depending on when the starter is gone.

Mets were ahead 5-0 and one out away from a sweep when Sean Murphy delivered a 2-out rbi single in the 7th and the Braves salvaged credit for a 1-2 record and remain in the playoff picture for now at 21-18. The Padres and Reds are chasing them at 18-18.

Brewers Crush Phillies to Take 1st in NL "East" Heading Into Inter Division Play

The Philadelphia Phillies felt the loss of Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler immediately in our "NL East" final series. With him now out for the season (we do not use Statis-Pro Baseball cards of players who are out for the season). The Milwaukee Brewers hit three straight homers in a 5-run 1st inning off Jesús Luzardo en route to a 9-1 win after eight innings to claim SWEEP (3 games to none) credit in the opener for leading by 5+ after 8 innings. The Phillies did score in the 9th to make the final score a respectable at 9-5.

In the Phillies first 10 Statis-Oro games they had given up a total of only 24 runs for a league low 2.4 allowed per game - but the Brewers scoring 17 runs allowed moved his averaged runs allowed a full run to 3.4 runs per game.

Then in the second game they hit back-to-back homers in a 7-run 3rd inning to almost claim the double sweep, though the Phillies did score three in the top of the 8th inning to get within 8-6 to salvage credit for going 1-5 in the two games. That improved the Brewers to 23-13 to edge the 22-14 Mets at the end of play against Divisional foes.

Now each of the top four teams in each division will play all four of the top teams in the other division to get credit for up to 12 more wins - so the Brewers will get credit for between 23 and 35 wins by the end of the season. the possible range of wins for each team appears at the bottom of the column (East to the left, West to the right) based on how many of the four listed games they win to add to their total wins right now at the top - once again getting credit for 3 wins (if 5+ lead after 8 innings in win without using their closer), 2 wins, 1 win, or if they give up the 3 win sweep to the opponent then 0 wins.

As shown above, the No. 1 and No. 2 starter for each team will host a home game against a No. 4 and No. 3 starter for one of the four teams in the other division; and then their No. 3 and No. 4 pitcher will pitch on the road against a No. 2 and No. 1 starter for an opponent.

Once a team plays game, the "No. 1" or "No. 2" etc., will be replaced by the number of credits for that game - 0, 1, 2 or 3 - and then that tally added to the tally by the team at the bottom of the list.

Once the games are played the top team on the left (right now the Brewers) and the top team on the right (now the Dodgers) will get the two playoff byes, and the next best four teams based on wins tallied that way will be the wild card teams. Right now the Padres and Reds would be the two teams to miss the playoffs, but with the Phillies and Braves slumping badly after losing so much key pitching to season ending injuries, they seem to have the toughest defend to hold onto a playoff spot.

If the Dodgers do not clinch the West after going through those four games, then they can still go back and play the last place Arizona Diamondbacks to try to get up to 6 additional wins. That is why they could still finish with between 21 and 39 wins, whereas the Brewers can only finish between 23 and 35 wins.

In the 2-game series each reliever could pitch in one of the two games. However, since we will allow them to pitch in all our of the games, a pitchers with a 2 Max Innings Pitched allowed based on his Statis-Pro card can only pitch some or all of 1 inning, if Max Innings is 3 or 4 then he can only pitch part or all of 2 innings, 5-6 up to 3 innings. The starting pitcher can still pitch up to his full Maximum innings pitched in his one start in these final four games.

Here are the scoresheets for the Brewers to wins over the Phillies to move into first place.
