Tampa Wins Pool with Only Two .600 Teams (Brewers Eliminated)

 Both teams playing .600 ball in actual MLB play ended up in the same semifinal pool, meaning only one could advance to the Final 3 Pool.

The Rays emerged to join the Los Angeles Dodgers and one team TBD from the third semifinal pool.

The Rays, who with the Brewers are the only two .600 teams in actual MLB play hope to make their third ALCS in five years in real MLB, had already finished 3-1 with a commanding 21-11 advantage in runs scored versus runs allowed.

But because we went with head-to-head runs scored as our tiebreaker for this round, their fate was still in doubt with the Cubs and Brewers tied 1-1 after six innings.

Then MVP candidate Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a solo homer in the top of the 7th, and the Cubs' sometimes-shaky relievers retired the final 10 Brewers in order to secure a 2-1 victory.

That sent Tampa Bay to the Final 3 Pool—and sent their rival Brewers home..
